Ok, so about my new job, my co-workers are great. One thing though is that everyone is trying to figure things out about me. For instance, they heard I was "religious" so I heard many guesses as to my beliefs. On guy asked me if I was a Wicca. I mean, I know I have long hair and like candles but come on people! I told him I was a Christian, which to them translates "Catholic". A few days later I was asked if I was going to be a nun.
*face palm*
My boss is a really nice guy and I work with him every day. He is trying to "understand me" because he likes to know how all his employees tick. So he asks me a lot of questions to which I do my best not to answer. He told me I wasn't very forth-coming, to which I just smiled. Now after working with these people for a couple weeks it is generally known I am a "follower" of some sort. Most of them think I'm kind of strange. I'm happy with that. One thing they haven't mentioned though, which I am just dying for someone to ask me, is why I wear a ring on my left hand. Darn. I will just have to wait.
It got me thinking about interaction with other people. I am not a big social person and this hasn't been playing in my favor in the work force, but I am actually starting to like my co-workers. I actually want to see them saved. And if I'm not talking about anything, least of all my faith, how will they ever know the truth? So I am going to make an effort to be less mute and "mysterious" and be more open. Sure, glaring works in most cases, but not when you're trying to share the truth.
Great!
ReplyDeleteI know what you are saying, though I have never known anyone well that was not a believer. Think of the song, "Here I Go Again" (Casting Crowns) while you are working. One thing that Franklin Graham does, that I admire, is he is always able to steer conversations towards the simple gospel message. You ask him how the weather is and he'll share the gospel. That should be our goal.
Glad your job is going well!
