Reading, Writing, Singing

I'm admitting right now, I stole this post idea from Kate.  I thought it was engaging and clever so I'm gonna use it too.  I have no shame.  It's basically what I've been up too recently.  My hours at work have been upped since it's vacation season and I'm filling in for all the lucky people lounging happily on a beach somewhere soaking up sun and sipping at colorful drinks.  No I'm not bitter at all.  Other than that, here is a snapshot of my life right now.

What I've been reading......

The Bravehearted Gospel, Eric Ludy
A book after my own heart, it's really themed a lot like my blog, except more theological and more masculine.  It's epic

Inkheart, Cornelia Funke
What ever you read aloud comes to life before your eyes?  Oh yes, Inkheart is like my old friend, a good old fiction with fairies, bad guys with swords, good guys with smarts, oh and a fire eater named Dustfinger.

Sir Rowan, Chuck Black
The last book in the Knights of Arrethrea series.  Yes, I'm reading more fiction than non, but hey this one's an allegory!  Seriously, I cry every time I read it, it's just such an awesome book.

What I'm writing.......

I don't usually journal or write down my thoughts or feeling or whatever, but recently, I've been chronicling some of the things God has been showing me, so I can look back on it later as a testament to His faithfulness.

Emails, mostly to Matt.  Texts to my friend Madlyn for planning our upcoming outing (I'm sure I'll be posting on that later).  As well as random texts to Stacia, which she normally doens't respond to, but I love her anyway.

Lot's of bla bla stuff about our farm for the website I'm creating. :D

What I'm singing......

Better Than I - from Joseph, King of Dreams
"You know better than I, You know the way, I've let go of the need to know why, for You know better than I"

Worth It, Francesca Battistelli
"Love takes sacrifice, love cuts like a knife, sometimes love will make you cry. Love's not easy, but it's worth it"

Into the Open Air, Julie Fowlis
"I try to speak to you everyday, but each word we spoke, the wind blew away. Can these walls come crumbling down? I want to feel my feet on the ground, leave behind this prison we share, step into the open air"

and many more, but my mind is an Ipod in and of itself, and it would take to long to write all them down, you would get bored anyways.

What I'm reading reading.....

1 & 2 Chronicles for Friday night Bible study.  We're studying that time period and I've found I'm really very unknowledgeable on that time period.  I sort of didn't know about the whole Israel splitting into northern and southern parts, and the whole scattering of the top half.  Fail me.

Psalms, they continue to be an anchor for me.

1 John, a New Testament favorite and Pastor Wellington just happens to be doing a sermon series on it, so I'm getting a fresh perspective.

So, yup, that's it, that's all I have to say.  Hope you enjoyed my stolen blog post idea.
